I never claimed to be a good blogger, but not posting a single thing since June has been fairly remiss of me. Sorry.
Needless to say, I have been extremely busy. Now, if I wrote everything out in full detail, we’d be here until well into next year so here are the highlights from the second half of 2020:
Taking part in DAWNS Live – okay, so this actually happened in May, but the video I contributed to didn’t come out until much later
Completing 30 Days Wild for the second year in a row
Photographing Comet Neowise – a one in 7,000 year opportunity (I made a whole vlog about this)
Editing videos for a Virtual Kepplewray camp
Filming series 2 of The Local Patch Project (it’s a treat, I promise)
Returning to my degree at the University of Cumbria – which has been a unique challenge for sure!
Getting out and photographing some of my favourite wildlife – mushrooms!
Completing a short film about the environmental impacts of HS2
Enjoying the snow, and the birds!
I’ve got plenty more already lined up for 2021. I’ll keep you updated with things on social media, but you can definitely look forward to an appearance on BBC Radio Cumbria on 20th January – I’m going to be talking about habitats as a part of their Planet Cumbria scheme. There’s also something in the works with the Countrystride podcast (who you should definitely check out). And then, of course, once university is back, I’ll be getting stuck in with my dissertation and my final major project! I also hope to be able to share my short film with you soon.
Further down the line, I’d love to be able to film a third series of The Local Patch Project in Carlisle, keep developing my production practice and maybe finding employment in the industry. One step at a time though!
And for anyone who is wondering if I have any resolutions this year – I have one. Finish my degree.
Anything extra will be an added bonus.
I hope you are all staying safe and well, and let’s see where 2021 takes us!
